"boatmeal" (revised)

boatyard oatmeal cookies

350-360º aprox. 10 min
until light brown- to taste

cream together:

1/2 lb butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup w sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp baking soda
11/2 cups flour ( whole wheat)
3 cup rolled oats (1 1/2 cups quick-cook oats + 1 1/2 cups largeflake)

optional ingredients: 1/2 - 1 cup
chocolate chips

i mix by hand
the point is to find that elusive balance
between delicious and health food
the best batch so far:
i mixed in a little extra flour until the dough
was stiff and flattened them with a fork.
they rose enough to make them crunchy
but light
